Afterlife and Dream

Hello Folks! Hope everyone is safe 🙏🏼

I hope I got you curious by the title of this post :) why delay it, let’s get started.

I strongly feel everyone is curious about afterlife or at least curious to know about what will actually happen after one's death. What if there is a correlation between dreams and afterlife?

As always, I will start with a short story. Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a great and glorious nation. Under his governance, all his people were happy and healthy. One day, all of a sudden, his land got attacked by an enemy at midnight. Him and his army fought fiercely with all the skills they had to save their nation. But luck was not on his side that night and the king lost the battle. The throne was left waiting for the new king. The lost king was brought as a prisoner in front of the victor king and was beheaded. It was then that the king woke up from his dream and found himself on the bed sweating profusely. He shouted loudly and all his servants rushed to him and asked, “Maharaj what happened?” He then with all confusion asked, "Is that true or is this true?" (Was the dream true or the real world he was in true?). He was in a deep trance that he did not listen to anyone, not even his ministers. When someone asked him to eat, he replied with that same question "is that true or is this true?". Even in his courtyard with all the ministers, he asked only one question "is that true or is this true?" This continued for a while and no work was getting done. Soon the news had spread to every corner of the kingdom, that the king went mad. Then, a Saint who was passing by the kingdom got to know this and decided to visit the king. The king then asked the Saint that same question, "is that true or is this true?" to which the Saint replied Neither that is true, nor this is true. Only you (the experiencer) are the truth. Huh! right? let's analyze.

Have you ever experienced all five senses in your dream? Let’s look at a few questions and I will answer from my experience. Were you able to see in your dream? Yes. Were you breathing in your dream? Yes. Were you able to eat in your dream? Yes, absolutely. Were you able to hear someone in your dream? Yes. Were you able to talk in your dream? Yes.

And finally, did you ever figure out that you are dreaming in your dream? No.

We could laugh, cry, love, get angry, feel gravity, see the moon, feel the taste and do almost everything we do in real life in our dream. And that is the reason we don't know that we are dreaming until we wake up from the dream into reality. But once we get killed in a dream by any means, soon we would wake up into the real world (99% of the time).

Did you ever think, if the real world we are in is a dream? Is the real world we are experiencing, something created by us in our brains while sleeping somewhere else? I feel yes. Maybe that’s the reason monks say, “everything you see is an illusion (Not real)”.

In my opinion, we would wake up from our sleep somewhere else, and once we wake up, we leave this world. Similar to how we wake up from our dreams, once we are dead. And even the world you wake up in once you are dead is again a dream. And yes, this is a loop and I think getting out from that loop is what is called Moksha in Hindu mythology.

But the question here is, if this real world we are in is a dream and we are the creators of that dream/world, why do we create situations against us (like losing a job or losing money and some other personal issues)?

Answer, you would have faced some situations in your dream which are against you like, getting late to an exam, correct? The same logic.

In my opinion, we are the creators. we are the god of this real-world we are waking up to. And we can change our own fate if we believe in it.

Like Swami Vivekananda once said, “All power is within you. you can do anything and everything

You're coating the teachings of "Advaita Vedanta" philosophy -- To be more particular these teaching or story is from "Mandukya Upanishad", Which is a book Explaining the teachings of " ATHARVA VEDA". I appreciate your work and picking some interest on upanishads and writing your own commentary on topic, But what I want to also mention that is your logic or opinion is not exactly the teaching of Mandukya Upanishad and I have the below question. So you're saying what if the life we are thinking or experiencing as real world is also a dream and when we die or death is where we wake up in another life and that is also dream you mentioned. So my question here …
